APhA-ASP Executive Board Candidates

President-Elect

Jules Lee

My name is Jules Lee, a P1 student running for the position of APHA-ASP’s President-Elect. Starting my P1 year last semester, APHA-ASP stood out to me amongst numerous organizations at Pitt Pharmacy and soon became my favorite. As the P1 representative for APHA-ASP, I not only created a “P1 sheet” to clarify PrimeRX and Pitt Portfolio and a card celebrating the white coat ceremony, but also had the opportunity to attend Midyear back in October, where I was able to witness first-hand the impact Pitt Pharmacy chapter’s APHA-ASP as on student pharmacists nationwide. I also serve as the P1 representative for the Interprofessional Committee of APhA and Primary Care Progress (PCP@Pitt), attending meetings and case conferences in collaboration with other graduate schools here at Pitt. Outside of APHA, I am a member of Lambda Kappa Sigma and Student Industry Organization, and work as a pharmacy intern at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. APHA-ASP has already made such a large impact on me, and I want to be your President-Elect to help make an impact on student pharmacists not only here at Pitt, but throughout APHA-ASP chapters around the country.

Payal Bhatt

As a P1 student who came to the pharmacy school not knowing which direction to take my career in, APhA has been one of the most helpful clubs. It gives me the chance to not only explore each career path, but also to network with professionals locally and nationwide. I have already learned so much about the field of pharmacy thus far, and I would like to help my fellow students have the same wonderful experience by managing the current APhA events, expanding the APhA student and networking platform, and track budgets and reimbursements.

International VP

Erika Thomas

I am a currently a P2 who is currently involved in Kappa Psi, APhA, and PPA, among others. Through APhA, I have been able to serve as the CVS OneChoice GenerationRx coordinator which has been a wonderful experience as I have been involved in educating middle school students about a crisis affecting our region and nation. Through PPA, I am serving as the government relations ambassador elect and we are currently working toward planning for legislative day in Harrisburg. I look forward to having this opportunity to run for International VP!

Grace Liao

I am currently a P2 student at the School of Pharmacy. I have worked in Giant Eagle Waterworks as an intern for the past year and a half, which gave me insight on how a corporate-chain community pharmacy is operated and enhanced my skills on various aspects. Over the past summer, I have interned at Dr. Ma’s research lab, where I shadowed one of his PhD students and helped co-write a section of a literature review paper to be published. I served as a Reader for the P1 Community Health course and provided students with guidance and feedback on their journals and assignments. I am also involved in several school organizations including Kappa Psi and APhA.

Interprofessional VP

Nauka Bhalodia

I hope to raise awareness of the increasingly interconnected field of healthcare so that we can all learn to appreciate and respect each other’s professions, while also strengthening Primary Care Progress at Pitt so that we can continue to develop strong case conferences that will foster these relationships.
