To support pharmacy leadership commitment by recognizing leaders and fostering leadership development

Brief History:

The impetus for Phi Lambda Sigma began on the prestigious campus of Auburn University in 1965 by honorable student Charlie Thomas, and to this day has consistently recognized outstanding leadership within the intimate profession of pharmacy. Far and wide across the United States of America, there are a grand total of seventy registered Phi Lambda Sigma chapters. The University of Pittsburgh chapter, Beta Delta, has maintained a longstanding history with the School of Pharmacy since 1993.

Membership Details: 

Members are selected via intensive and comprehensive peer recognition after submitting an application highlighting their dedication to the advancement of pharmacy through leadership and service. Eligibility for membership requires that applicants have accomplished at least one year of professional schooling and have maintained – at minimum – a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Currently, Phi Lambda Sigma, Beta Delta sports twenty nine proud pharmacy leaders. Applications become available in November and are due prior to the initiation of the spring semester.
