Residency Opportunity
Dear Graduating Student,
The Division of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy at The University of Iowa offers a PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Practice Residency in each of six pharmacy practices in Eastern Iowa. This twelve-month program was established in 1997 to assist graduate pharmacists in the development of specialized clinical care and practice development skills in the community pharmacy setting. The program is ASHP/APhA accredited. It was the first multi-site program to become accredited and the first Community Residency to be re-accredited.
We currently have two openings in our program, Osterhaus Pharmacy in Maquoketa, and Main at Locust Pharmacy in Davenport. Each pharmacy offers a variety of unique patient care opportunities and a number of services to clients and businesses outside of their care settings. Both sites are independent pharmacies.
Information about and application materials for the program can be obtained at the following URL:
http://www.pharmacy.uiowa.edu/CAP/res/CommCareIndex.htm
This material can also be obtained by contacting Jay Currie, the residency program director, using the contact information below. You will notice the initial deadline for application has passed, however we continue to accept applications.
Thank you for your consideration of this residency program, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have about the program.
